This day care has a interview and trial session to make sure new dog is not aggressive, for this interview he needs the Bordetalla vaccination. I went on line to read up about it. Theanaphylactoid reaction is to long for me to include on this thread. Giving Cody the Bordetalla vaccination has me a bit up in the air about whether or not I should give him this vaccination. Below in bold letters is just a small portion of what I read. I would appreciate any feed back / comments on the safety of giving the Bordetalla vaccination. Vaccination is a serious medical procedure with significant potential risks. If that isn’t enough, the vaccine is unlikely to prevent kennel cough. It can even produce kennel-cough like symptoms. The WSAVA Guidelines say, “Transient (3–10 days) coughing, sneezing, or nasal discharge may occur in a small percentage of vaccinates.” It can also cause a serious anaphylactoid reaction. Look it up. You won’t like it. |
I don't know what your source is but it makes it sound horrible. I have never had a pup have an anaphylactic reaction to bordatella, nor have I heard of any pups that did. One must remember that ALL meds and vaccines have possible reactions. That does not mean they are not useful.
