Totally agree. Whenever Andy + I had to go to hospitals, I would record the conversations on his phone, so we could re-play it later. I think our minds are in such turmoil that we forget, sometimes, very important points.
I also took photos of any scans, x-rays etc. from the Specialists computers. It's certainly all allowed 'over here' - they would all twist the screen round, so I could get a better view.
