I read somewhere that if you don't allow them to sleep with you they respect you as the Alpha.
My late yorkie slept with us or on an afghan on the cedar chest at the foot of the bed. They love afghans.
Oliie is still too little and our bed is so high, I'm afraid she'd try jumping off and get hurt.
