When I rescued my Lola and she had her 7 puppies an Italian family adopted one I called Birdie. The husband whispered Bella Bella to her. I knew what he was saying but it was that sexy Italian voice that I knew she would hear for the rest of life . Lucky girl! It was hard for their family to say Birdie so they changed her name to Bianca which was fine with me. Yes your Matese was Bella!
