It's hair-raising and my Tibbe's done it about three separate times. He only started doing it about 3 years ago. First time he woke me up and I realized it was coming from a dreaming dog and I wondered if he were trying to howl like a wolf or something in his dream and it came out in that blood-curdling long screeching yowl that went on and on. He makes several noises in his sleep that he never makes when awake and they are mostly high-pitched and weird. Never had heard any dog make that sound before Tibbe did it after years of working with dogs in all sorts of states mentally and physically. The second and third times were less shocking.
