Maybe it's the way your little cousin is trying to pick Rosie Mae up, as yorkiemom1 suggested, she may have hurt her, not in a way that would make Rosie Mae yelp, could have been to much pressure when picked up. All my pups, from baby to adulthood, I scoop them up, right hand under butt, left hand under front legs, no pressure. I don't allow anyone to pick up my babies under their arm pits or around their middle, it's my way, or you don't pick them up.
