You are going to love your Yorkie!! I have no experience with therapy dogs, but I know there are plenty of people on here that do. I'm starting a puppy training classes next week. I went to one years ago, but I definitely need another one. I can say that I'm amazed at how quickly Sunni does pick up new commands. Some require lots and lots of repeats, but she does get them.
