It is my understanding that the IABCA titles dogs but does not register them. There are a variety of clubs in the country in which dogs of foreign origin that are not yet accepted by AKC can compete. This is much different than a registry that actually keeps records of many generations of purebred dogs.

Many of the owners of the breeds that compete in these shows hope one day to have their breed accepted into the AKC and if so the stud book would also be accepted.

These clubs are reputable but not yet accepted into AKC and are not official registries.
