I got my boy when he was 10 months old and he had the puppy cut and it's just now able to all fit into a pony tail. Pretty much one full year if it's short. But you don't sound too far away if it's flopping in the eyes already... I used to just do I tiny pony tail in between the eyes which stuck forward and I used to call him a unicorn lol....but at least he could see!
