Hi everyone ! I'm a newbie to having yorkies and to this website. Hi. I adopted my first Yorkie 3 months ago from a puppy mill rescue organization. I also have a Toy poodle who has been my heart for 10 years. This little girl Bella( yorkie) I adopted was the sweetest dog. So sad. Didn't know what grass was, or how to walk on leash, or be loved. Afraid of everything and everybody. She just started doing well when she took ill. Had her in vets three times then ER vets. Turns out she had mast cell carcinoma end stage. Broke my heart into pieces. Her whole life in a cage having puppies. She gets a forever mom and home and has to go. It was heartbreaking. Still trying to wrap my head around it. She passed on Valentines Day. I have been broken. The foundation that rescued her actually went and bought me a yorkie to help with the hole in my heart. Really I was not ready either was Peanut but what could I say? Well, I have Pasha Rose now who is about 6 years old. Only 7 pounds. Had her last litter 9 weeks ago. I'm getting her spayed and her teeth done on Wednesday but I am very afraid because of her age. Also because I know small dogs need special care when put under. Thermoregulation and good perfusion. I am on the fence about getting it done. From what I understand the risk of mammary cancer and others if not spayed. Your thoughts? I can't lose this little cuddle bug. |
