My little Sugar 7 years ago I had an outside dog, Elvis, that I had since a puppy, he was a mixed collie. I had an inside dog ,Kila, she was a Shiba Ina , given to me at age 7 from my son, I had a white persian cat , Brandi, who I got as a kitten as a gift.
I found my little Sugar in May of 2008 where she had been dumped on the road. I brought her home, gave her a bath and food and love, took her to my vet right away, she was 4lbs! Almost dead . Sugar has been with me 7 yrs , the vet thinks she was about a year old when I rescued her. She is so smart. She will let me do anything to her. From tooth brushing to clipping her nails and cutting her hair to her baths. She is a dream baby.
Brandi died in Sept 2008 at age 19. She was just old and tired. And she seen I had Sugar to sit in my lap and decided she could leave her mom and I would be fine. Well of course I wasnt , I was heart broken.
Kila I had taken to specialist and vet may times for different things, she passed away at the foot of my bed Nov of 2008 from an inoperable brain tumor.
Elvis completely turned on me , he bit part of my ear off and giving him more chances he drug me on gravel and would snap at me. He was such a sweet dog, i would sit with him in his huge chain link play pen and brush him and talk to him and he would love me. I had to have him put to sleep Nov of 2008.
This left me with only Sugar. She became diabetic. So we have 2 shots a day and I have to watch her blood sugar every day.
My son decided I needed another furbaby and in Feb he bought me Spice. She was 5 mo old when he got her and will be 7 mo Fri.( the 21st) She is a little sweetheart/monster that took my heart the first night ( of not sleeping LOL)
She and Sugar do not get along real well so I keep them separate as it would only take one time to hurt Spice or worse. i understand as sugar was my only one for almost 7 years! I am just real cautious .
Anyway I have 2 little furbutts that I love and bring me so much happiness and joy. I am disabled and on SS so I have to be very careful with my money , but my girls will never go without good vet care.
I have bought things at the thrift store and tried to remake for my girls since I dont sew they arent fancy but the girls love "getting pretty" every am as I dress them and wash their faces, brush their teeth etc.
Anyway I wanted to share Sugar and her story with you. |
