Well, Sophia is o.k., so that is not what this thread is about.
I have a cat that was my first pet ever and she is 12 yrs. old. Her name is Arnold (long story) and I love her so much. She is terrified of going to the vets, won't let you pick her up and carry her too much....very much a scaredy cat. She has this awful raw looking area on her left cheek.

I have no idea how it got there. It looks awful and I am so concerned for her. I have sprayed it with antibiotic spray a few times today and last night (when I noticed it.) If it shows no signs of improvement, I will try to find a vet who can come to our home. I just can't put her through the vet office experience for this (bound to be painful) at this point in her age.
Next, my outdoor dog, Sandy, big dog, shepherd mix, just seems to love Cocoa our next door neighbors Yorkie. Cocoa runs in our yard and plays chase with Sandy and all is well. (Trust me...it gave me a heart attack when I first saw it. Sandy has an ivisible fence, but Cocoa does not. My neighbors weren't worried at all and think it is cute.)
Here is the thing though....so far Sandy does NOT seem to like Sophie. They don't have one on one contact. Sophie loves Sandy and goes to the screen in the sliding glass door and jumps and sniffs through it. More than once Sandy has snapped at her and made a horrible growl noise that tells me she is not fooling around. Now I am terrified of what could happen.
Oh, and speaking of irresponsible dog owners...we had a neigbor with a medium sized dog on a leash in Cocoa's back yard just a bit ago. Sandy was barking and not acting happy. (Sandy never barks, so I knew something was going on.) So, I'm at the back door and calling Sandy to come over and calm down when I see the neighbor drop her dogs leash so her dog and Cocoa can play. Fine, only then the dog runs in our yard and Sandy takes off. I quickly call Sandy back and get her in the house and explain that Sandy can sometimes be a little dog aggressive....and I wasn't sure that she didn't think this other dog wasn't going to hurt Cocoa. So...just like that we could have had a big dog fight and of course my dog would've been the bad dog...even though she is in her own yard protected with an invisible fence. Some people can be so irresponsible.

So, Sandy is still at the back door whining to get out...she can't until the other neighbor goes home! Urggghhhh!!!
Sorry so long and boring...just needed to vent to someone who would understand.
Thanks,
