Obviously, some people do it.
Personally, I never would. It's just too much of a risk of injury in my opinion. You can reason and explain to even a young child, why they should be gentle with a yorkie. You can't reason with a dog. A wrong movement, a moment of boisterousness, and your yorkie could be seriously or fatally injured. It's just not worth the risk.
