I'd recommend that you be very careful with fencing. It's not only about keeping your dog in, it's about keeping others out.

I'm an avid DIYer and decided to build my own little cute fence using farm wire wrapped around 4x4 wood posts. As you said, it is easy to push against, push under, etc.

My neighbor has a German Shepherd that has never been an issue...until one day as a deck builder entered my neighbors back yard, and she escaped her fenced in yard. She immediately ran to my small fence and tried to get through it. Now I don't actually know if she came under it or over it, as I didn't see, (but my fence was bent and stretched unbelievably from her body going against it) as I turned to try to get ZoE, who was up at the top of the yard.

Well, the other dog went after ZoE and ZoE ran like hell. I couldn't grab Zo, she was so quick! So, I made the choice to run straight to my breezeway and open the door wide and yell over and over again to ZoE. ZoE came flying towards me, with the dog on her heels. She ran into the breezeway and I slammed it shut. The other dog crashed into the door, and stepped back. I quickly scooted through the door and scooped ZoE up in the breezeway.

The whole event was absolutely terrifying, and happened so FAST! And I constantly think what if...what if she had grabbed ZoE before she made it to the breezeway? What if ZoE had been tethered to her long leash around the tree (where I latched her to before I had the fence, while I was working in the yard, tanning, planting, etc), she'd have been sitting duck.

So remember if not just about what you're keeping in, it's also about what you're keeping out. My fence is now five foot high and reinforced with wood along the bottom so nothing can get under. It doesn 't look as pretty as I wanted, but it does its job!
