If the stain is old - I would soak it for several hours in enzyamatic cleaner - and you will likely find places that you had no idea of were being marked ...


I use OxyOrange - don't know if you get that in England. I also use vinegar and water too, but not on the same day etc.


I would rely on that tethering for about a year and or the crate - I know sigh .. for some Yorkies it takes a long time.


The good news is you don't have any intact females in the house which will make your life a whole lot easier.


Like all training the faster the correction the more effective the correction - I like the loud sounds - OOPS - or NO at the first hint of a leg hike. Also a bell can work too. Whistle ...
