Technically, BabyFidgette, you are right. I left off the second set of quotes. But as a teacher, you should know the reason for that. In a continuing quote over several paragraphs, you omit the end quote in each graph but have a new open quote on the next graph. Teri's "love" note actually went on for several paragraphs. Here's more of it:
"Mike. You are soooo much funnier than Bchgirl, BabyFidgette and the rest of those mean, catty women on the women's and men's thread! I just LOVE you.
"You're also so much smarter than them. You have an excellent grasp of grammar and punctuation.
"And I just love how you understand continuing quotes. BabyFidgette is a teacher, and she NEVER gets it right.
"As a little test, why don't you "quote" me and leave off the end quotes? I'll bet you any money that Betty Boop wannabe has a smart-a$$, know-it-all teacher comment."
