If you do neuter I'd definitely wait until he's 3 as your breeder said. I'm sure he/she knows more about yorkies than your vet. Has your breeder given you any input as to what she does with her males to deter marking?

The vet is a Yorkshire Terrier specialist. He loves Teddy so much that he's started a fan club..lol

And, I haven't contacted the breeder re: marking - good point! I guess I didn't think to cuz I came here first! Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know this, it is very helpful. I am very torn on what to do because Teddy is only 1 oz over 4lbs and the vet said that, although these dogs are neutered/spayed everyday (most without issues), his size does put him at more risk. So, I dunno...

Thank you very much, though, for commenting. It just gives me more to think about for when he turns 3!
