I'm sorry but reputable breeders keep the puppies with there moms until 12 weeks this is something that the Yorkshire terrier club of America strongly believes in and reputable breeders follow that because they are the mother club of yorkies. The biggest issues is breeders who skip out on steps like that are generally skipping other steps which could leave you with a pup that ends up sick with genetic issues and such that even super healthy pups can not show signs of until 2 years old or even older. Pups that live there mom early can have issues with bitting, socialization, and even potty training. I'm glad the yorkie you had did well but that's not the norm. The younger they are the more at risk for hypoglycemia they become and shoukd not be left along for very long at all.
