Here is what I know about this...other than it hurts like the dickens:
Cartilage injuries/tears take longer to heal...cartilage itself is the material that eventually hardens and forms the bones when growning and when repairing them when broken. When a bone is broken, it takes less time for the cartilage to harden and heal the bone than it does for more cartilage to be produce to replace it if it has been torn. So instead of cartilage itself having to repair the injury, it takes more time because first you have to produce the cartilage before it can begin the repair.
Does this make any sense? Not that it helps you any, but hey you said "Does anyone know 'anything' about this?"
