Yeah, I agree with the group -- do both. Jillie is 5 pounds and was pad trained before she learned to go outside. Rather than stop putting the pad out, though, I let her decide what she wants to do. When it's warm, I'm finding she doesn't use the pad. When it's cold, she uses the pad. It's a win-win situation because I don't mind leaving a pad out for her.
