Uh, I don't think mammary tumors are rare in dogs. While 50% are cancerous I see a LOT of them in rescue.
Not basing this on any article or study....just saying what I see a lot of.
I do believe there is zero risk of mammary tumors in a dog that is spayed before her first heat.
