My girl is 9 months and last weighed 11 lbs, she's actually a little overweight by a few pounds (she's long framed but dainty boned) and the vet agreed with me that she should probably be at 8-9 lbs for optimum weight. She's got LP (luxating patella), as well, which is why weight concerned us more than normal, cause otherwise since she was still so young my vet wouldn't have worried about it as much. She's also been fixed and that can make it easier for her to gain weight. I've been giving her joint supplements that the vet recommended and it has done wonders! But she still needed to lose a couple of pounds
She also has the cotton coat so it makes her look a lot more "fluffier" than normal, lol When i get the groomer to trim her down a good bit, I can easily see her body shape. My vet jokingly said, "she used to be so small bodied and big headed, but now she's big bodied and small headed". lol
