I don't think so. When I brought home my first yorkie, I switched up quite a few times until we had a setup that worked for the both of us. Once we found the right setup, it was smooth sailing from then on when came to house training.
I thought I would confuse her with changing up the routine but she would let me know that whatever I'm am doing isn't working and to figure something else out.
I think a lot of people on here went through the same thing....trial and error.
