"Fresh" meaning less processing not meaning raw. Dogs can get samonila just not as easy as human. Alot ppl swear by it but I've seen alot of recalls lately. I would rather cook for my dogs. This is so true. Humans nor animals are meant to eat highly processed, frankenfoods, but many do because of convience and lack of education. However processed food for humans and pets is so recent in our history and the results are not good. Eating heavily processed food or food contaminated w/ hormones, chemicals, and antibiotics, has led to a fat, sick population heavily dependent on prescriptions. I recall a pet nutritionist telling me that eating a lesser quality kibble everyday was the equivalent of a human eating dry cereal all day, everyday. It's sad that people and pets have eliminated fresh veggies, fruits and lean meat for "food" our ancestors (human and wolf, lol) wouldn't even recognize as food! I know the pull of processed sugary, salty food all too well, but if I wouldn't feed it to my dog, I shouldn't feed it to myself.
