I have an unaltered male and he's only tried to mark once in the house. I did a loud clap and yelled "No!". He does mark outside in our backyard. I'm a stay at home mom so training him was a breeze since I always have him with me. If you're unable to watch him when he's out having him fixed may be ideal. He may still mark but alteration may lower the chances.
