My Heidi was 11 days shy of being 18 yrs. The last 3 1/2 yrs she was in acute kidney failure and on sub-q fluids and meds every day. She had a few very bad episodes but she was alert and happy for the most part the rest of the time. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't change a thing that I did. Until the end my vet said she was a little trooper and not ready to go yet. She let me know when she was though and I was with her through it all. |
