Part of the issue with premeds for surgery is they relax the muscles including the muscles in the trachea. This is most likely the reason that they could not procedure with the dental. In my previous post, I mentioned other ways for a vet to look inside the trachea. When you say "eventually she will have to have surgery" what are you referring to? Tracheal surgery or a future dental?
