Question Mac got really sick after his checkup

Mac & Mellie went for their checkup Monday. They both got rabies vaccine and distemper booster as well as blood test for heartworm. Both were fine when we left the vet. Mac threw up in the car but that is not uncommon for him. Yesterday afternoon, Mac was shaking, acting very lathargic, has his tail between his legs, and in general just not himself. I called the vet and they said to bring him in. The vet said it was unusal to react to a vaccine the next day and not immediately. When they were drawing blood they were unable to get to a vein in his leg so they took blood from his neck. Mac was born with Atlanto-Axial Malformation. So you have to be very careful with anything doing with his neck. His gloucose level was fine, no temp. The vet said it was either a reaction to the shot or he might be having neck pain. They gave him a shot of cortizone and said to watch him. He seems fine since we came back from the vet yesterday. I was just wondering if anyone has had any similar experience. Should I be concerned about him getting future innoculations? They did mark his chart about possible reaction to the shots. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated? Sorry for the long post but just wanted to get all the facts in. By the way they both checked out fine. Mac weighs just under 3lbs, Mellie just under 4lbs.
