Cody was 2 1/2 y/o when i adopted him. I know he was allowed to sleep on the bed, but I don't think he was allowed to sleep next or near the the prev. owner, he would sleep on the pillow next to me. Every night I would pick him off the pillow and put him under the blankets next to me, he would scoot back to the pillow, every night it was the same procedure. After 10 months he crept onto my pillow, paws touching my head, I was in heaven, he was testing me. I was still putting him under the blankets. He slept for one month on my pillow, paws touching my head, then at the end of the 11th month he stayed under the blankets snuggled against me, that's when I knew he really knew he was in his furever home. It's been 4 months now, he looks forward to going under the blankie, he stays and snuggles a short time, gets to hot, comes out and snuggles against me. 14 month old pup may get to warm with your body contact, they change as they get older. All my passed girls after puppyhood always slept on top of the blankets pressed up against my back or my legs, Ollie will too.
