Try wetting a cotton ball with warm water and really soak the area, maybe while giving him a bath? You can also use a little of his facial shampoo, being careful not to get into his eyes, of course. Then use a flea comb or another comb with very closely spaced teeth to comb from the corner of the eye downward.
