The Good Wife' Guide:

Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before , to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when the come home and the prospect of a good meal (especially his favorite dish) is part of a warm welcome.

Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him, his boring day may need a lift and one of your duties to provide it. Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before his arrival.

Comments appreciated. Mine is "I thought I was his favorite dish"
Yep that worked back in the 50's when woman stayed home, raised the children. That all ended when women had to help out financially, had the same 9 to 5 jobs that hubby did, yet still had to come home cook, clean, do laundry while DH sat watching TV while the working wife did the dinner clean up. I lived it lol. worked all day, then catering to DH lol. Single and free today and loving it and it's gonna stay that way. I believe in equal rights if both husband and wife work, share duties. Times have changed. If a married woman can be a stay at home mom today, then I agree with the 1950
Good Wife Guide, maintaining children and house is a full time JOB. No sick time, no paid holidays. That's a 365 day job. Does anyone remember the Donna Reed show where she would be in a beautiful dress, swooping through the door, looking all refreshed in full make up after a full day of house work lol. The perfect picture of what a perfect wife should look like when DH would get home from work. Always made me feel like a failure because I couldn't be a Donna Reed housewife, in beautiful dress and full make up and perfect hair style, with perfect table set up and perfect dinner to be served as soon as DH walked through that door. Thank GOD that brain washing has ended and hubby's help when wife holds down same full time job as he does. Gezzzz was this a response or a rant lol.
