I discourage doggie doors to all my new owners. That leads to unsupervised outdoor time for play or whenever the mood strikes them to go outside....too dangerous....too much for them to get into....and if these Yorkies actually SEE something or someone in the back yard, they will be OUT that doggie door in a flash, because that is the job God gave them! If a doggie door is absolutely required for some desperate reason, I would strongly suggest it lead out to an enclosed, covered patio or a sun room or a garage....someplace where any number of predators can not get to the pup.....snakes, raptors, poisonous toads, coyotes, bobcats, raccoons, possums, bats, human theives, etc, just to name a few!!!
