Hi and welcome to Yorkietalk! I'm kind of where you are now minus the enlarged heart. Our first sign that Sadie had a problem was noticing that her belly was bloated. It turns out that losing protein can make their vascular system leak fluid into their gut and chest. Sadie had a partially collapsed lung when we found out. We are still in the diagnostic phase. We have an appointment Monday at Auburn University vet school for a scope and biopsies. I was scared to death reading on the Internet. One article even said that no dog has lived more than two years with Lymphangiectasia. I've since learned that in fact there are many dogs even here on Yorkietalk that have successfully controlled this disease with diet and medication. I'm at the point that I just want to know what it is so that we can begin treating whatever it is. My advice is to find a good internal medicine vet that is familiar with PLE. If you ever want to talk, I'm here.
