Sophie Kate is pad trained also and let me tell you today in Georgia I am thankful (it is so dang cold outside). Sophie Kate will also go outside but uses a pad if inside and she needs to relieve herself.
I use washable pads from T Bumpkins and change them daily, flushing the poop. Washing is easy, I use hot water with unscented soap and Borax.
