 Yorkie or Silky?
As the title of the post says I'm wondering if Sammie is a Yorkie or a Silky. Until last night I had no idea what a silky terrier was. I have a friend who brought up the subject, because Sammie is a tall Yorkie.
After doing a little digging the two breeds are cousins and they look a lot alike. The only difference I found was that Silkies are slightly larger than Yorkies. When I take him to the dog park he does look taller than all the other Yorkies. However, it is kinda hard to tell how large Sammie will be as an adult. He is only 6 months. It is funny to see the shock on other dog owners face when I say his age.
My wife purchased Sammie from a pet store 3 months ago. He does have papers however, they aren't AKC papers. (I read into the difference in the papers) My family and I have grown to love Sammie over this short period of time, even though he is really bossy to my other dog. He has learned over 20 commands/tricks.
To sum up my long story I just wanted to know if anyone also else had this same issue? |
