Brown rice is less processed. Does it mean more nutrients and fiber? It depends on one's perspective. I tend to think of a dog's diet as a whole. So if the dog is eating other sources of fiber then I don't care if the carbohydrate source in the diet contains fiber. It is for this reason that I follow a veterinary nutritionist's advice who has looked at the entire diet. Some people care about the amount of fiber they can get from rice (or other grains) as if it is the only way in the world anyone can get fiber. Vegetables can provide plenty of fiber. I think brown rice is harder on a dog w/ a history of GI issues.
