OK, so I also get this cross body bag and I have used it once. We were out for several hours and I made several stops. This one is great! Jack was happy as can be inside and it was very stealthy. A couple cashiers asked if he was in there and I let him peak out the side and say hello. Otherwise he wasn't noticed as far as I knew. I even stopped in a place to get a quick salad and set it on the seat next to me and nobody noticed him in there.

One thing I found is that if the strap is not shortened sufficiently and the bag lands more on your legs the passenger gets bumped about more than one would like as you walk. Nobody needs a passenger with motion sickness. So easy enough to correct by adjusting the strap. I also felt much more secure having the crossbody strap. I may add a loop to put a clip on the bag that attaches to a belt around my waist as added security.
