I wouldn't wait to long because you want to get it done before her first heat so probably would not wait more then a month. The blood work is to make sure all her stuff is working right like her liver to under go surgery. My aunt and uncle have a small dog that they got the blood work on and turns out her liver could not have handled the surgery so they had to get it done with a specialist.
