Hi, thanks so all for your assistance and well wishes. I thought I would post what worked for me so if anyone runs into the same problem, they can try out some of my solutions. The sweet potato started working almost immediately but it took a few weeks to get back to normal stools. Before I added the sweet potato all I had was diarrhea. I used grated raw carrots as well. I once read that the grated raw carrots added into the diet is not only healthy but it firms up the stool so when your yorkie passes the stool, the anal glands are naturally expressed ... which is good for these little ones as well. I stopped giving her all commercial treats. Praying I will find the right dog food or homemade receipe for her eventually. Vet said it is ok to keep feeding her the way I am for a while. |
