One of mine was a chewer. He chewed everything, wires and the ends of the rocking chair. The bitter apple didn't work as a matter of fact, I think he liked it.
As Taylor said it is very dangerous. They can be burned electrocuted or cause a fire.
The only thing that worked for me (and yes, I know it is mean, but I love him) was to daily rub Tabasco sauce on the wires and rocker. After about a week he didn't bother them anymore. I can also see the deodorant working but worry about the aluminum in it.
