I'm glad you are feeling a better. I hope the other liquid iron works for you.
Hmm, maybe my coffee and cocoa made with dairy is giving me an iron absorption problem. |
I'm sure you know my pain with your handsome long haired boys.
Thanks
As long as you wait 2 hours before and after taking iron supplements you should be ok. The studies aren't even definitive, I'm just not taking chances. Also don't take iron with other metal vitamins, they compete for absorption.
Liquid iron is supposed to work better than pills. I liked the floradix but it's $20 for 2 weeks. I just ordered wellesse iron on amazon, it's $7 for a month.
In high school my hemoglobin was 7 and ferritin was 0, and I tried for months to get it up with pills, ended up getting an iron infusion and had a reaction. Plus the pills are hard on my stomach.
This time my hemoglobin was 13 and ferritin was 10 in december and my hemoglobin dropped to 10 in january from a really bad period. 10 isn't horrible but dropping that fast isn't good.
((Hemoglobin should be about 12-15 and ferritin should be 10-154, but most drs agree ferritin should be much higher than 10))
