I bathed Gracie weekly from the time I first got her. This helps the pup to adjust to the grooming they are going to need all their lives.
You do need to be careful about what products you bathe with though. You cannot bathe that frequently using a shampoo with sulfate and other chemicals in it or you will strip the skin and coat and your pup will get itchy dry skin. Some will react to these chemicals even if you use them less frequently.
Look for products that are ALL natural and not products that advertise just one or two natural ingredients. Read ingredient lists. Usually sulfate and other chemicals are pretty high up on the list.
Daily grooming and weekly baths while your pup is young will make it much easier for both of you when the hair grows long. Even if you plan to use a groomer he will still need day to day coat care. |
