I've always read that local honey is better - if you can really know that your honey is actually local.
For acid reflux, I would go with what my vet suggests after exam and diagnosis. When Tibbe was suspected of having acid reflux, he would partially regurgitate stomach acid with a belch-like action, begin to taste with his mouth, apparently the stomach acid would burn his throat, and a bit would aspirate and he'd begin reverse sneezing. His vet recommended giving him a small dose of Pepcid x2 weeks and it worked wonders - stopped both the belching up acid and the reverse sneezing.
