Unless it is an emergency, it is best to wait until after the pup goes thru her heat cycle and everything has the opportunity to "get back to normal". Everything should be "stabilized" and back to normal within a couple of months after her heat cycle ends....this is what my vet goes by, and every reproduction specialist I have conversed with has said the same thing.
