She wanted us to wait until the morning to start the Cerenia. He seems to have the biggest issue with vomiting at night, so she wants him to keep the Cerenia down long enough for it to take effect. We will start in the morning when we have a better chance of him actually keeping it down.
Came home from the vet and he wanted to play soccer in the front yard with me. He started running round and was shaking his soccer ball around in his mouth like he felt great. I guess we will see how things go tonight. Hopefully the Cerenia can start helping him feel better and the other meds will fix the issues. If not, we will re-test and determine the route from there.
Thanks for all the help ladies. You have no idea how much help you have been... I feel like you are saving me from drowning... I will update in the morning. |
Your first paragraph suggests to me that she is thinking a PLE. The treatment would be prednisone for most and the diet she already put him on (RC low fat gi). Personally, I would do the scope to be sure of what it was, but I realize it is costly. My concern though is that pred won't work if it is the PLE that is due to a fungus (histoplasmosis). My thinking is that she wants to check the blood to see where the albumin is....that would be typical for a PLE. My Cookie now goes every six months, but she is stable now. I know some people just treat "as if" and I suppose that can work. I just don't like to not know for sure what something is.
