There not necessarily known as a great dogs with or for kids although my two are but they are larger yorkies. Yorkies are small dogs and can be fearful of the energy and fast moving of kids. Generally a reputable breeder will not let a person who has small children have one of there dogs because a small dog can be so easily hurt by getting dropped or handled to roughly. Yorkies are known to be hard to potty train.
