Those are oysters, to my knowledge(there may be a clam I am unaware of for that), we have lots of oysters too. Our oysters are actually of Asian decent, brought over about 100 years ago for propagation. I can't/won't ban you for not knowing the difference because, maybe there is a clam I'm unaware of for that. I do ban you for not ever seeking out and trying a Pacific Oyster. Pan fried or on the half shell raw or baked, they are simply delicious. NOAA - FishWatch: Farmed Pacific Oyster
