I took my Angel off of sweet potato and chicken and just gave her chicken with rice. She had another bout of diarrhea. I called the Vet who told me to give her two days of the peptic pill and reintroduce the sweet potato since it worked for me the first time. She told me to continue with the probiotics. My Angel is a very nervous delicate little thing. She is five pounds but the vet says she is delicate. Since I introduced the sweet potato her stool firmed up but is still soft. There definitely is a difference in what is going on. She never had bowel problems before and always had decent stools. I know of a number of things I did different since she got sick: 1. one of them was using tooth gel with alcohol. I wonder if that harmed her. Petzlife was the brand; 2. I gave her eggs; 3. opened a new bag of her treats and gave her one; 4. I stopped giving her the heart worm pill/treatment in December since it is very cold in the northeast in the winter. She does not have heartworm... she was tested. I am very upset/ been going through this for while now on top of having a very sick family member. |
