I used to use a sling backpack which Zoey loved also but the only problem I had with the sling type was that it put too much pressure one the shoulder and and back of that side. I think it's ok to use for short period of time but if I were to use it for days/hours, I'd go with the backpack type.

If your body is strong and you're fit, maybe it'll be okay, but if you have a bad back or something, I think it's better to go with a backpack type carrier for both you and the pup.
