We are in Ontario Canada and kinda in the vicinity of a lake. It gets cold here. I put Pao in a jacket sometimes 2 layers when he's out in backyard to pee or do #2 even if it's just a minute or two. He is older now, on low fat diet ( post pancreatitis) and I find that his body can't regulate temperature as well as he used to so I keep him warm. I always touch his ears and if its really cold, usually it is because he feels cold. He also shivers quite a bit indoor so he has sweaters on. Our temp is usually set at 21 celsius during day and 18C at night.

He does wear a sweater at night to sleep and if he's cold at night he'll tap me with his paws and I put his blankie on him. For that reason I've multiple blankies so I can just pull one without opening my eyes and put it on him without getting up. If he drags that one elsewhere and comes back to tap me again, I've another one lol!
